My normal thought is mixed verbal/visual, but I can switch to a much more one-sided thought mode when lying in bed after waking up. It does not work always; I think it happens when I wake up from a dream. I must have been lying on the right side for hours and keep that position after waking up to stay in the alternate thought mode. (more…)

Magic Glasses
In my About Me page I tell you about my hope to one day put on glasses and see clearly through the mist of my Asperger’s Syndrome or whatever other neurological anomaly makes me feel out of place. This is a metaphor, of course, but my hope is based on an experience that is very much like a myopic person putting on glasses for the first time. The experience was a picture I found one day on the internet. I browse sites for computer generated images like Renderosity from time to time in the hope of finding a picture that has an unusual effect on me, which might give me further clues about how I perceive the world differently from most other people. I had spent many hours over several months on browsing such sites. The picture I found on that day made all those hours of search worth it. It makes me believe the world can be shown to my brain in a way my brain was built to see.
